Died, she did.

Yoda, the Chinese crested and Chihuahua mix, was a star in the dog world. She won the 2011 World's Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in California.

And today we're sad to report that the 1.8-pound pooch owned by Terry Schumacher of Hanford, died in her sleep on Saturday, according to AP. She was 15.

Yoda had a tough life. Schumacher found her abandoned behind an apartment building and mistook her for a rat. But Yoda went on to find fame -- and fortune (she won $1,000 last year in the contest) -- along with a trophy 15 times her size.

Contest producer Vicki DeArmon tells AP Yoda will keep the title until a new ugliest dog is crowned in June.
