Holiday driving reminder: Red-light crash highlight reel

Drive On would like all of you to get through the holidays -- and holiday driving -- safely, so we offer this video as reminder to stay alert, watch out for the idiots and drive smart.

It seems those controversial red-light cameras don't just snap runners for tickets and help city budgets -- they also capture on video some of those runners causing nasty crashes.

A company that provides cameras in Missouri, American Traffic Solutions, today released a video highlight reel with 10 of the worst red light crashes in the state in 2011.

And in case you think the most dangerous time for these might be the wee hours after closing time, Kasey Joyce of KSDK-TV in St. Louis reports that the company has found the most red-light violations happen on Fridays, in the early commuter rush, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
