Today Google announced the launch of the Chrome Web Store. USA TODAY is excited about this new opportunity to reach consumers. We've built an HTML5 optimized site which appeared in the featured section of the Chrome Web Store during today's announcement. You don't have to wait for the official launch of the Chrome store to try it out as long as you have a browser that supports web kit and HTML5. The process of building this application was enlightening and downright fun. The ability to build rich Internet applications that run in the browser opens up opportunities to reach new audiences in new ways. The Chrome Web Store is a convenient way to find web applications, rate them and bookmark them within your browser. See the Google TV post for the technical details on how we built it. We are going to experiment with these applications, get your feedback and keep iterating. The power of the new web is here.
