'Big Bang' actor Jim Parsons signs on for Broadway show

Two faces familiar to TV fans are joining Broadway's already starry spring lineup, reports USA TODAY's Elysa Gardner. It was announced today that Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons and Pushing Daisies alum Lee Pace have both signed up for the upcoming Broadway debut of The Normal Heart, Larry Kramer's acclaimed 1985 play set during the early years of the AIDS crisis in New York City.

The actors will join previously announced cast members Ellen Barkin, Joe Mantello and John Benjamin Hickey in the production, which is directed by Joel Grey and begins previews April 19, with an opening slated for April 27.
