Mariah Carey to join Simon Cowell's 'X Factor'

Sounds like Simon Cowell loves Mariah Carey so much that she'll be joining his X Factor show in September.

"I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows," Cowell told Spokane, Wash., disc jockey Brown Friday on her 92.9ZZU radio show. "I met her recently and she was on great form."

So far, record exec Antonio "L.A." Reid is the only confirmed judge on the show, although lots of folks, including Jessica Simpson, are up for the job. But not Mariah. Cowell confirmed Carey has been taken out of the running as a judge.

But he still wants her on the show.

"Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with," Cowell told Brown. "She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."
