Katy Perry did a little lampooning of last week's Sesame Street brouhaha when she appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
She let her shirt do the talking.
In a Bronx Beat sketch featuring host Amy Poehler and ex-castmember Maya Rudolph, Perry played a busty teen who's been causing a lot of "hullabaloo" at the local library due to her blossoming figure.
"Honey, you've exploded! Kaboom!," noted the Poehler and Rudolph characters. They pair addressed Perry's low-cut T-shirt featuring Elmo, saying, "Looks like this show is brought to you by the number 38 and the letter double D." And, "Look at Elmo, his head's all stretched out!"
Later, the ladies told her to "never be embarrassed about your body." And added, "Who cares if kids are looking at boobs? Boobs feed babies." A wink at the controversy? (Katy makes her entrance at the 3-minute mark.)
UPDATE: Sesame Street's loss is The Simpsons' gain. Fox says Katy will appear in a live-action segment on a holiday-themed Dec. 5 episode.
