Let's get ready to rumble. Mayweather and Maidana will be aiming for a TKO this Saturday as these welterweights face off for the second time this year at the MGM Grand after a May victory for Mayweather. Mayweather, who has threatened retirement in the coming months, is arguably one of boxing's most popular athletes and with his reputation on the line, this fight is sure to be one to watch.

Oh say can you sing? Sunday marks 200 years since Francis Scott Key witnessed the bombardment of Fort McHenry that went on to inspire his patriotic poem. It wasn't until 1931, however, that his words were adopted as the American national anthem by Herbert Hoover. Today, singers and musicians put their own unique spin on the song at events throughout the country.

The USA basketball team will play in FIBA's World Cup finals

After fending off Lithuania in the semi-finals earlier this week, the USA men's basketball team will face off against Serbia on Sunday in the final game of FIBA's World Cup. Competitive play began earlier this month and since then, the U.S. has brought down Mexico and Slovenia. Spain was favored as a force to be reckoned when the competition began, but its chances were quickly doused with a loss to France in the second round.

20th anniversary of President Clinton signing the Violence Against Women Act

Spearheaded by then-senator Joe Biden, the Violence Against Women Act was signed into law by President Clinton in 1994. It's chief purpose was to hold those who attack woman more accountable under the law. This anniversary comes at a timely moment, as the Ray Rice domestic violence dispute continues to unfold before the public eye.

Miss America pageant airs on ABC

It's a battle fit for a queen. Well, not royalty per say, but someone will be walking away with a crown. Miss America 2015 will be chosen Sunday from more than 50 women representing their home states or territories. Last year's winner, Nina Davuluri of New York, made history as the first Indian American to win the competition – despite racially charged social media backlash – and will pass her crown to her successor.
