On the best of 2012 list: Susanna Kearsley, Juliana Gray

Joyce Lamb, USA TODAY

Here are more of your favorite romance authors' favorite books of 2012. And if you missed the first best-of-2012 posts, you'll find links at the bottom.

Look for the favorites of HEA's contributors on Monday. (At times, authors are going to gush about a book that might not have come out in 2012, and I've made the executive decision that that's OK.)

(Authors are listed with the title of their recent or upcoming book.)

Deirdre Martin, Hip Check

  • A Lady Never Lies by Juliana Gray. An amazing debut. Sexy, witty, and emotional.
  • Heart of Brass by Kate Cross. Historical romance meets Steampunk on a whole new level. Fun and extremely sexy.
  • The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley. Vivid and haunting. Moody and evocative.

M.J. Schiller, Taken by Storm

  • Black Creek Burning by R.T. Wolfe. Who can resist a man who works with his hands? Nathan Reed. Hunk-and-a-half! You'll love it!
  • Beneath the Wall by Eryn LaPlant. Mysterious journal, forbidden love affair, the Vietnam War … just who is Julianne Parker?
  • The Ghost and the Graveyard by Genevieve Jack. All I can say about this one is … yowza! Red hot! A writer with a phenomenal imagination and great wit!
  • Trouble Won't Wait by Autumn Piper. Jerky husband + handsome neighbor + crazy great aunt + town slut = fun, sexy read.

Dina Sleiman, Love in Three-Quarter Time

  • Walks Alone by Sandi Rog. Hunky hero. Exhilarating. Interesting history.
  • Veil of Pearls by MaryLu Tyndall. Edgy, romantic, thought-provoking,
  • Heiress by Susie May Warren. Intelligent, hard-hitting, different.
