5 reasons we love Bey, Jay more after HBO 'Run'

Bow down to Queen Bey and King Jay.

Rumors may have swirled this summer that Jay Z and Beyoncé are on the next train to Splitsville, but HBO's On the Run concert special painted a very different picture when it premiered Saturday night. Filmed in Paris Sept. 12 and 13 at the pair's final shows of their hugely successful On the Run tour, the two-and-a-half-hour marathon through their biggest hits gave us hope that maybe, just maybe, everything's OK for music's first couple:

Sizzling chemistry. From opener Bonnie and Clyde '03 to the Jay Z-featured Upgrade U to fan favorite Crazy In Love, those kids just couldn't keep their eyes (or hands) off each other any time they shared the stage. Granted, Beyoncé was giving her hubby and the audience a pretty booty-ful view for most of the set, but their adorable connection easily transcended all the night's rump-shaking.

Easy to 'Love.' Two of the night's highlights happened early in the show: When Nicki Minaj joined Beyoncé onstage for the first live performance of their Flawless remix and, of course, when Bey and Jay sang Drunk In Love. Chair-straddling and neck smooches aside, it appeared to be the first time the couple cracked a smile and let loose the whole show.

Justin who? Beyoncé took the reins of Justin Timberlake's verse on Jay Z's Holy Grail, bringing a new romantic edge to lyrics such as "It's amazing I'm in this maze with you/ I just can't crack your code." Sorry, Justin, but you just can't compete with Queen B.

Things got raw. The special took a bit of an emotional turn in its last 40 minutes. Jay Z performed Song Cry in front of a black-and-white video of him and Bey, dressed in a lacy wedding dress as they slow-danced in the desert, rode a motorcycle and taught each other how to hold a gun. (Romantic, right?) Then Beyoncé came out in a wedding veil for a raw rendition of Resentment, which raised eyebrows this summer when she changed the lyrics. It all culminated in a voiceover from Bey explaining how "love is an endless act of forgiveness" and "forgiveness is me giving up the right to hurt you for hurting me." Textbook example of art imitating life? Let the wild speculation commence!

Try not to cry. Excuse us, a little dust got in our eyes. As Bey and Jay both got teary-eyed closing out the show, it was near impossible for us not to as well. Paired with close-ups of them holding hands and slow-motion shots of them gazing into each other's eyes, the two performed Part II (On the Run) before heading into a heartwarming Forever Young — complete with home videos of vacations, their engagement, wedding, birth of daughter Blue Ivy and family life playing in the background.

Love is real, everyone. Time to put the rumors to bed.
