Tom Hanks drops f-bomb on 'Good Morning America'

It was a big oops moment for Tom Hanks on Good Morning America today.

He dropped the f-bomb.

In an interview with Elizabeth Vargas, the star was chatting about his new movie, Cloud Atlas, and the talk turned to accents. A clip was shown, featuring Hanks as a (nearly unrecognizable) British character who has just received a bad review and he goes off on a major rant. "The lesson to take away from that clip is 'Don't mess with me, Liz Vargas,'" said the jovial Hanks.

She then asked the star if he could speak in that accent.

"Oy, mostly it's swear words," cautioned Hanks.

"If you say it with an accent like that, they won't know," she said.

And then he did just that, speaking with an accent and dropping the f-word.

"We are so sorry, Good Morning America," said Vargas immediately, smiling.

"Man, oh man, I'm sorry," said Hanks. "I have never done that before. I want to apologize to the kids in America watching right now. And let me say the next time I'm on the show there will be a seven-second delay. ... Man oh man!"

An ABC News spokesperson tells Lifeline Live that "the show was corrected for all subsequent feeds."
