Kobe Bryant joins Twitter, gets obscene amount of followers

Kobe Bryant says "what's up" to the Twitterverse.

For someone who loves attention as much as Kobe Bryant, it's difficult to believe that the self-proclaimed "Black Mamba" wasn't on Twitter.

That is, until Friday.

Bryant got his account (@KobeBryant) verified and at 12:13 p.m. ET, he tweeted: "The antisocial has become social #mambatweets"

Within hours, Bryant was well over 275,000 followers.

LeBron James is the most-followed NBA player at more than 6.8 million followers.

Kobe is yet to tweet anything else or update his avatar beyond a Twitter bird, so stay tuned for more Mamba-isms.
