Jackman, Crowe premiere 'Les Mis' in Australia

• 'Les Miserables' is nominated for a best picture Golden Globe.

Ready, set, go!

Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe had some fun with the photographers on the red carpet for the Australian premiere of Les Miserables Friday. The movie, which is earning rave reviews and plenty of Oscar buzz, opens in U.S. theaters on Christmas Day.

"This is actually our last stop on the promotional tour and it makes it all the more special that the last stop is here; home," Jackman toldThe Australian.

Crowe, meanwhile, spoke highly of his co-star. "I saw Hugh lead a very complex group of actors through their paces, put an example before them everyday," Crowe said. "No matter how intense things got for me I just looked over and looked at his level of responsibility and just went 'what am I complaining about'."

The premiere was an occasion for Crowe to reunite with his estranged wife, Danielle Spencer, and their two children, reports the Associated Press. Crowe apparently visited Spencer's Sydney home and arrived with a bag of Christmas gifts. Crowe has been in New York shooting Winter's Tale with Colin Farrell.
