Happy Bday: Text message turns 20 today!

The first SMS text message was sent 20 years ago on Dec. 3, 1992 over the Vodafone GSM network in the United Kingdom.

The text of the message was "Merry Christmas" from a man named Neil Papworth to Richard Jarvis of Vodafone using an Orbitel 901 handset, according to AFP.
