The cutest Facebook user is also the oldest.

Edythe Kirchmaier, Facebook's oldest registered user, turned 106 Wednesday.

Kirchmaier, of Santa Barbara, Calif., signed up for the social network a year ago. At the time she couldn't even enter her birth year -- 1908 -- without a fix from Facebook.

Kirchmaier says she signed up for Facebook on her 105th birthday to get 105,000 people to like Direct Relief on Facebook.

Direct Relief is a medical aid charity where Kirchmaier volunteers. As California's oldest driver, she actually drives herself there in order to write notes to Direct Relief donors. The charity boasts nearly 130,000 likes.

In a year, Kirchmaier has gained more than 47,000 friends and 12,000 likes on two of her Facebook pages.
