LAS VEGAS - Comedian Sarah Silverman spiced up a Cisco Systems presentation at the CES technology conference on Tuesday by poking fun at movie director Michael Bay, who stumbled during an interview on stage earlier in the event.

Cisco CEO John Chambers presented his vision of the Internet of Things - a world where most devices are connected wirelessly to the web to share data - and recruited Silverman to explain the trend in real-world terms.

Silverman appeared in a short video in which she was visited by a version of herself from the future, showing the potential benefits of the Internet of Things. She opts in and gets lots of new information to help her plan her day and live better.

Silverman worries that the Internet of Things may track how many times she poops a day and might send her spam while she's in the bathroom in the future. But at the end of the video, she's impressed and Cisco is revealed as the company behind the technology.

Silverman then appeared on stage with Chambers.

"I hope I don't pull a Michael Bay," she said, getting a big laugh from the large crowd.

She was referring to Bay's appearance on stage on Monday at a Samsung presentation, when the director stumbled badly after his prompter failed, then walked off stage.

Silverman performed much better, although the comedian's prompter worked throughout her appearance on stage.

"I didn't write this sh*t," she said at one point, getting another big laugh from Chambers and the audience.
