Bush sends condolence letter to Alabama kicker

A.J. McCarron, #10, and Cade Foster, #43, react after Foster missed a field goal in the third quarter against the Auburn Tigers on Nov. 30.

The Alabama kicker who endured a nightmare game against Auburn last month has received both death threats and condolence notes -- one of the latter from a former president.

President George W. Bush told kicker Cade Foster that "life has its setbacks. I know!"

Foster missed two field goal attempts and had a third one blocked in Alabama's 34-28 loss to Auburn on Nov. 30. Auburn has gone on to the national championship game, while the Crimson Tide will play in the Sugar Bowl.

The senior kicker received death threats on social media after the Auburn loss, but teammates and football fans rallied around him with posts and a Facebook fan page.

This note from the nation's 43rd president:

''Dear Cade (#43),

''Life has its setbacks. I know!

''However you will be a stronger human with time.

''I wish you all the best -

''Sincerely -

''another 43
