Five cool gadgets for 'Star Wars Day'

To most readers, today is May 4th. However, if you are a fan of Luke Skywalker, Wookiees and lightsabers, this is a very special moment.

Today is Star Wars Day, chosen because "May the 4th" sounds an awful lot like "May the force," as in "may the force be with you."

To help celebrate, here are five cool Star Wars themed gadgets.

1. The LaserSaber. Hat tip to TechCrunch for a device that brings fans ever closer to wielding a real lightsaber, and even powers up and down like the Star Wars variety. The $100 Saber attachment works with company Wicked Lasers' S3 line of high-powered lasers, which cost a whopping $400. "Do not participate in any form of fencing or swordplay," the company warns. How am I supposed to follow along with a video like this?

2. Remote-control lightsaber night light. If you want a lightsaber that won't result in serious injury, there's always this nifty room light from ThinkGeek. It mounts to the wall, features a remote to power it on and off -- complete with sound and color effects -- and costs $30.

3. R2-D2 USB hub. Granted, you can probably find a hub for multiple USB ports for cheaper than $40, but none will look as awesome. Plus, it chirps and beeps like R2-D2 when new devices are plugged in.

4. Funko Rebel Alliance Fold-up Headphones. Toymaker Funko produces plenty of Star Wars-themed items, but the headphones with Rebel Alliance logos stood out. Available for $39.99, they also have versions with Boba Fett, Darth Vader and Stormtroopers.

5. Mimoco Star Wars flash drives. The selection of USB flash drives, ranging from $17.95-$27.95, is impressive. There's even one of Han Solo trapped in carbonite.

Readers, spot any cool Star Wars themed tech gear?
