New footage emerges of Mike Tomlin blocking Jacoby Jones' path to the endzone

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin may have kept Jacoby Jones out of the endzone during a kickoff return on Thanksgiving night, but new footage from a CBS station in Pittsburgh may back up Tomlin’s claim that he was simply watching the scoreboard.

With the Steelers down 13-7, Jones broke free down the Pittsburgh side of the field, but had to alter his course (and was subsequently tackled) as Tomlin was standing with one foot on the field. The NFL is in the process of determining whether Tomlin’s actions were intentional, and the league has not yet punished the coach or the Steelers.

Tomlin did not admit to intentionally creeping toward the field, and told USA TODAY Sports he lost his bearings while watching the play.

“I always watch the returns on the Jumbotron,” Tomlin said. “It provides a better perspective for me. I lost my placement as he broke free and saw at the last second how close I was to the field of play.”

This is how Tomlin reacted, after the play. The Ravens went on to win the game, 22-20.
