No. 15 Baylor is putting up some video-game numbers so far this season. In Saturday’s 73-42 win over West Virginia, the Bears had 864 total yards, setting a new Big 12 record.

Led by quarterback Bryce Petty, the Bears have gained 3,118 (!) total yards through four games this season. They have averaged 432.25 passing yards per game (the highest average among FBS teams) and 347.25 rushing yards per game (the second-highest average among FBS teams). That comes to 779.5 net yards per game. Let that sink in.

No other FBS team is even close to that average. Oregon is second on the list with an average of 630.4 net yards per game.

Not surprisingly, the Bears also lead all FBS teams in points per game. Baylor’s lowest-scoring game came in Week 1 when they put up 69 against Wofford.

Granted, the Bears haven’t played the most difficult schedule up to this point in the season. Their best opponent so far was West Virginia, and the Mountaineers were unranked. The Bears will travel to Kansas State to face the Wildcats this Saturday.
