Biden plans to campaign for candidate seeking his old Senate seat

Vice President Joe Biden plans to campaign hard for Democrat Chris Coons in his bid to claim Biden's old Senate seat.

Expect a joint Biden-Coons appearance within the next week, the vice president's office says, and other events in the weeks leading up to election day on Nov. 2.

The Biden team is making plans a day after Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell upset U.S. Rep. Michael Castle, R-Del., in the Republican primary, giving Coons a much better chance to win.

It's possible that President Obama could also campaign for Coons, but there is nothing on the schedule right now

Biden headlined a fundraiser for Coons back on June 28.

"It's good to be home and it's good to be campaigning for a guy who I would be proud to call Senator," Biden said at that time.
