LOS ANGELES — Chris Cornell's daughter has released a recording of a duet with her late father as an emotional tribute to the late rocker on Father's Day.

Toni Cornell, 13, released the cover duet of Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U on Sunday, along with a note thanking her dad for his support of her.

Chris Cornell, left and his daughter Toni in 2015. Cornell's daughter has released a duet with her late father as a tribute to him on Father's Day.

"You gave me courage when I didn't have any. You believed in me when I didn't. I miss your love everyday," she wrote in posts that accompanied the song on Instagram and YouTube. "Recording this song with you was a special and amazing experience I wish I could repeat 100 times over and I know you would too."

Chris Cornell, 52, died in May 2017 while on tour and his death was ruled a suicide. He was a leader of the grunge movement with Seattle-based Soundgarden, and enjoyed a successful career with other bands and as a solo artist.

His daughter performed "Hallelujah" with OneRepublic on ABC's "Good Morning America" in August as a tribute to her father and late rocker Chester Bennington, who also died by suicide in July 2017.

Chris Cornell, left, with his daughter Toni and wife Vicky, arriving for the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington on Dec. 7, 2008.

The elder Cornell unveiled an acoustic live cover of "Nothing Compares 2 U" on SiriusXM during his acoustic tour in 2015 and released a studio version after Prince's death in 2016.

He described Prince's music as "the soundtrack to the soulful and beautiful universe he created, and we have all been privileged to be part of that amazing world. ... Sadly, now his own lyrics in this song could not be more relevant than at this moment, and I sing them now in reverence as I pay tribute to this unequaled artist who has given all of our lives so much inspiration and made the world so much more interesting. We will miss you Prince!!!"
