3 pressing questions facing 49ers offense entering 2017

This week offered our first glimpse into what the 49ers will look like under Kyle Shanahan in 2017 with the start of OTAs and the third phase of the offseason program (you can find our recap from the sidelines of Tuesday’s practice here).

In truth, the practice offered little in terms of answering big questions facing San Francisco. It was just the second full-team session since the 90-man roster was fully assembled. Recent first-round picks Solomon Thomas and Reuben Foster weren’t participating.

Players at every position were being shuffled and rotated, while the installation of the playbook remains in its infancy. We’ll have a better idea of what to expect when we get another chance to watch practice next week before mandatory OTAs in mid June.

With all that said, here are the most pressing questions I have about San Francisco’s offense in Shanahan’s first year at the helm…
