NFL draft: See how oddsmakers think Browns will handle No. 1 pick, who gets booed

The countdown is on for the Cleveland Browns, who look to Thursday’s NFL draft to kick-start a franchise that hasn’t had a winning season since 2007.

The big question is: What will they do with their first pick? Will they stay at No. 1 or try to move out and get more picks? According to offshore bookmakers, the Browns are -150 to hold on to the top pick and +130 to trade out. If they keep the pick, Myles Garrett is an overwhelming -900 to be their selection.

Even if they take Garrett, the Browns are the favorites to be the first team to take a quarterback. They’re at 4/1, with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets next at 5/1, the Buffalo Bills at 7/1 and the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans at 8/1. As far as who that quarterback might be, the oddsmakers love Mitchell Trubisky at 1/2 to go first, Deshaun Watson next at 4/1 and Patrick Mahomes at 9/1.

LSU running back Leonard Fournette is the favorite to be the first offensive player taken at 5/4, with Trubisky next at 7/2. Fournette is also a 4/1 favorite to make the most outrageous fashion statement.

NFL mock draft: Our final projections at who goes where in the first round

Five players who could be surprise first-round picks in NFL draft

Since the draft is in Philadelphia, you should expect a boisterous crowd. So it’s no surprise that the oddsmakers have Eagles opponents in the NFC East the most likely to be booed -- the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants are 3/2 favorites, and the Washington Redskins are 5-1.

However, the oddsmakers think the crowd will save the most raucous welcome for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. The over/under for the length of time he gets booed when he first goes to the podium is 12.5 seconds.

Oddsmakers like defensive lineman Myles Garrett going to the Browns.
