Mall cop asks ultimate tourist Jim Harbaugh to stop playing catch in Rome shopping mall

The Michigan football team is spending the week in Italy, and nobody is having a better time than head coach Jim Harbaugh.

The team spent the past day touring Rome. Harbaugh, who was dressed in game-day attire (like always), broke out a football and started playing catch in the middle of a shopping mall. The mall cops were not happy with such behavior and told Harbaugh to stop.

Harbaugh also purchased a selfie stick, officially making himself the ultimate tourist. Harbaugh unsurprisingly loved the selfie stick.

A Nigerian refugee asked Harbaugh why American football is called “football” when it primarily involves hands. Harbaugh was stumped by the question.

“I don’t know. Good point,” Harbaugh said.

The team will practice at Serie A club A.S. Roma’s facility, but the primary goals behind the trip are boosting Michigan’s recruiting profile and giving the current players unique academic opportunities.

Via bcsn.tv:

“You don’t see anybody else in the country doing this. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said offensive lineman Ben Bredeson, who’s studying in Barcelona. “If a school and a football program can offer that to you, I think that’s an incredible bonus over other schools.”

It’s been quite the experience for Harbaugh and his players.
