We’re down to the last four in our search for the greatest college basketball team of all-time.
Despite its dominance of this bracket, UCLA managed to send “only” one of its teams to the Final Four. That team, the 1966-67 squad led by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, is the lowest-seeded team left in the field. It easily took care of Bobby Knight’s 1976 Indiana Hoosiers in the Elite Eight, winning with 70.8% of the vote.
Kareem and company moves on to the semis where they’ll take on a stacked 1991-92 Duke team, led by Christian Laettner and Grant Hill. The Blue Devils already beat a UCLA team to make it to this point.
On the other side of the bracket, we have a star-studded affair with Michael Jordan’s Tar Heels taking on Magic Johnson’s Spartans. North Carolina beat a good Georgetown team to make it to the Final Four, while Michigan State upset the top-seeded 1972-73 UCLA team.
