Crew chief Dave Rogers will take indefinite personal leave from Joe Gibbs Racing, the team announced via press release Wednesday evening.

Rogers, who helmed the No. 19 Toyota driven by rookie Daniel Suarez in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, also has worked with JGR drivers Carl Edwards (2016), Denny Hamlin (2015) and Kyle Busch (2010-2014). Edwards unexpectedly retired after the 2016 season, leaving the seat open for Suarez to move up.

Rogers will be replaced by Scott Graves, who had been working atop the pit box for the No. 18 Xfinity Series team.

JGR did not provide further information or the reason for the leave. The team said it would announce Graves' replacement later.

Rogers has been part of 18 wins, 85 top-fives and 20 pole positions in 260 starts while serving as a crew chief at JGR, dating to 2009. He also was at the helm for 11 Cup starts for Jason Leffler, in 2005.
