The Kentucky Wildcats lost to North Carolina in the Elite Eight, but that didn’t save Padres catcher Austin Hedges from getting out of a bet with manager Andy Green.
Hedges is a huge UCLA fan while Green is a Kentucky grad who grew up in Lexington. When Hedges’ Bruins lost to Kentucky on Friday in the Sweet 16, Green had Hedges show up to Tuesday’s spring training in a full Kentucky basketball uniform.
Green clearly put a lot of thought into this bet. Hedges even had to participate in stretching and baserunning drills while wearing the Kentucky uniform.
This just looks odd.
Never make a bet with your boss.
