VW shows its sleek new CC sedan replacement, Arteon
After having discontinued its stylish CC coupe-like sedan, Volkswagen has come up with a new model to replace it, the Arteon.
The Arteon Gran Turismo is being shown off at the Geneva Motor Show. It has the same sloped-back looks as the CC, but with a long hood and a thorough update.
"The Arteon combines the design elements of a classic sports car with the elegance and space of a fastback," said Volkswagen head designer Klaus Bischoff."It’s an avant-garde business-class Gran Turismo that speaks to the heart and head alike."

In Europe, the Arteon will have six engine choices, all of them turbocharged, direct-injection powerplants. Given Volkswagen's diesel scandal in the U.S., it seems highly unlikely any of the diesel versions will come here.
Among its new tech systems:
• Cruising. An adaptive cruise control system that automatically adjusts the car's speed to the posted speed limit.
• Curves. With its GPS, the car knows when it is coming to a curve and the headlights adjust accordingly to light it up.
• Emergency intervention. If the driver becomes ill behind the wheel or passes out, the car will steer itself to the side of the road and stop.
