DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Another racing icon has joined the list of celebrities and fan favorites who will take part in Daytona 500 festivities Sunday.

Jeff Gordon will drive the pace car at the Daytona 500 this weekend.

Jeff Gordon will drive the pace car for the Great American Race. The retired four-time champion in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series won three Daytona 500s, in 1997, 1999 and 2005.

He returned to Daytona International Speedway last month as part of the Wayne Taylor Racing team that won the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Gordon, who is part of the Fox Sports coverage team and will be in the TV booth for the event, joins legend Mario Andretti, LaDainian Tomlinson – a member of the 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame class - and actor Owen Wilson among Sunday’s special guests.

He will lead the field to green in a 2017 Camaro ZL1. Gordon drove a Chevrolet during his 24-year career with Hendrick Motorsports.
