Cole Swindell and Dierks Bentley sing their high energy pretty girl party anthem Flatliner side-by-side every night on Bentley’s What the Hell World Tour. In February, they brought cameras on the road to capture the song in action for its music video that debuted today through USA TODAY and The Tennessean.

“I have said since the day this song was released that I wrote Flatliner … with Dierks in mind to record it,” Swindell said. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think he would record it with me for my own album one day. This is such a fun, highly energized and, honestly, surreal moment each and every night of the tour for me that there was no question in my mind of how I wanted to capture this video.”

Swindell co-wrote Flatliner four years ago with Jaron Boyer and Matt Bronleewe. At the time, Swindell hadn’t released his debut album or notched the first of his six consecutive No. 1 songs. At the time it was written, Swindell sent the song to Bentley and got no response. But when Swindell texted Bentley about Flatliner again a couple of years ago, Bentley said he loved it. When Swindell asked Bentley to sing it with him on his second album, Bentley was all in.

“To know a song I wrote with him in mind, he’s singing it with me and we perform it with his band every night, that’s the ‘only in Nashville’ stuff right there,” Swindell said. “It’s pretty cool to have my seventh single out there and be singing it with one of my biggest influences. When I was in college, I knew every song Dierks Bentley ever put out and did them all in the bars.”

Flatliner is the third single from Swindell’s gold-selling sophomore album You Should Be Here and is on track to become his seventh No. 1 song. Swindell and Bentley will perform the song on the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards, co-hosted by Bentley and Luke Bryan, which will air at 8 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
