After winning a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots, Chris Long is on to a new challenge.

The defensive end agreed to a two-year deal on Tuesday with the Philadelphia Eagles, the team announced.

Long, 32, had four sacks for the Patriots last season but said in an Instagram post that he would be moving on to a new team as he pursued a larger role.

"It's the right move in my heart because I want to get back to being the player I was before," Long wrote. "I'm thankful for my role this year, but as a competitor, I'm itching to do what I do best."

In Philadelphia, Long brings needed depth on the edge after the team released starter Connor Barwin. Brandon Graham returns as the other starting defensive end, while Vinny Curry could compete for the remaining spot.
