Meet the 'World’s Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017'
House GOP lawmakers unveiled their Obamacare replacement this week. But while it's a health care plan, it's not the "Greatest Healthcare Plan."
That honor goes to a proposal from Rep. Pete Sessions. The Texas Republican last week introduced health care legislation entitled the "World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017," a proposal that, among other provisions, would eliminate individual and employer health coverage mandates.
Sessions, along with Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., introduced similar legislation during the last session of Congress, albeit with a different year in its title: "World's Greatest Healthcare Plan Act of 2016." That version of the bill never made it to committee.
This year's "Greatest Healthcare Plan" has similar tenets with the Obamacare replacement bill, and Sessions supports the proposed replacement, a spokesperson from his office said. His legislation isn't meant to compete with the American Health Care Act in any way.

"He wholeheartedly believes in this plan, and he believes that Republicans have the best plan for health care," his spokesperson said.
