Golfer politely apologizes after stripping down to underwear to hit shot at Honda Classic

Shawn Stefani took it all off at the Honda Classic on Friday. This might sound familiar because a year ago, Gary Woodland did the same thing, except he kept his shirt on.

The commentary is fun/weird to listen to too — just like last year, they shout out Henrik Stenson, who took off his shirt and pants to hit a shot back in 2009.

Stefani took to Twitter afterwards to hilariously apologize. An apology wasn’t exactly necessary, but it’s nice, I guess.

Uh, while we’re here with all this weirdness, here’s Woodland at the Honda Classic last year:

And here’s Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño at the CareerBuilder Challenge last month:

Of course, not everyone decides to take off their pants. At the Hero World Challenge in December, Rickie Fowler chose to just walk into the lake with his pants and shoes on, since it was the 18th hole.

To each his own.
