Entire 2013 draft class for Broncos is now gone

Looking back four years later, the Denver Broncos’ 2013 draft class was probably John Elway’s worst as Denver’s general manager. The team selected seven rookies that year. None of them are still left on the roster.

1. Sylvester Williams, DT (No. 28)
2. Montee Ball, RB (No. 58)
3. Kayvon Webster, CB (No. 90)
5. Quanterus Smith, DE (No. 146)
5. Tavarres King, WR (No. 161)
6. Vinston Painter, OT (No. 173)
7. Zac Dysert, QB (No. 234)

Williams never lived up to his first-round status, recording 94 tackles and four sacks during his four years in Denver. He signed a three-year contract with the Tennessee Titans this offseason. The Broncos selected him two spots above linebacker Alec Ogletree.

After two underwhelming seasons in Denver, Ball was waived by the Broncos entering his third year in the NFL. He’s been arrested several times since then. The Broncos selected him three spots above running back Eddie Lacy, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.

Webster was a special teams ace for the Broncos but rarely saw the field on defense. In his defense, he was buried on the depth chart behind Pro Bowlers Aqib Talib and Chris Harris and first-round pick Bradley Roby. He signed a two-year contract with the Rams on Monday.

Smith was injured for his entire rookie season and was waived after his second year. He spent two months with the Lions last summer. The Broncos selected him 13 spots ahead of cornerback Micah Hyde.

The Broncos waived King as a rookie. He’s spent time with four different NFL teams since then, with only four career receptions. The Broncos selected him six spots before offensive tackle Rick Wagner.

Painter spent two seasons on Denver’s practice squad before eventually landing with the Washington Redskins, where he serves as a backup. The Broncos selected him in the sixth round over running backs Latavius Murray, Kenjon Barner, Andre Ellington, Rex Burkhead, Spencer Ware and Theo Riddick.

Dysert lasted two seasons in Denver before losing his third-string job to some kid named Trevor Siemian. He currently serves as Adam Gase’s emergency quarterback with the Dolphins. Sean Renfree was selected 15 spots after him.

There is one positive to take away from 2013: C.J. Anderson, the Broncos’ starting running back, was signed as a free agent out of college.
