Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut (6) blocks out Atlanta Hawks center Dwight Howard (8) in the first quarter at American Airlines Center.

Andrew Bogut might wind up with the Cleveland Cavaliers soon enough, but the veteran big man will be weighing his options first.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, he will have talks with Cleveland, Boston, Houston, and San Antonio before deciding his next stop. After being traded from Dallas to Philadelphia recently, Bogut finalized a buyout with the Sixers on Monday.

The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the talks.

Bogut must first clear waivers to become a free agent.

The veteran big man has only played 26 games this season due to a rash of injuries, but he's still a significant defensive presence. Although somewhat an offensive liability, he would offer any contender a reliable rim protector for close to 20 minutes a game.

His averages (3.0 points, 8.3 rebounds) are still good enough to make him a contributor for a cheap price. The Cavs could do much worse than Deron Williams and Andrew Bogut on the buyout market, but time will tell which contender Bogut ends up with.
