Tiffany Trump is turning heads and sparking debate at NYFW
While Donald and Ivanka Trump are busy making headlines in Washington, the Trump family's younger daughter, Tiffany, is making the rounds at New York Fashion Week.
On Saturday, Trump attended the Fall/Winter 2017 show of Chinese designer Taoray Wang, who designed her white dress and matching coat for Inauguration Day.
Trump, wearing another white dress designed by Wang, was joined in the front row by mom Marla Maples and her boyfriend, Ross Mechanic.
"I think Tao's aesthetic is just unparalleled. She puts so much effort into the slightest detail," she told The Hollywood Reporter at the show, saying she'd be attending "a couple" of other events for NYFW.
Trump's next outing came on Monday, when she appeared at the Philipp Plein show at the NY Public Library, sitting in a celeb-crowded front row that also included Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Madonna, and the Hilton sisters.
Dueling accounts about Trump's reception at the event have circulated on social media. "Nobody wants to sit next to Tiffany Trump at Philipp Plein, so they moved and the seats by her are empty," tweeted one attendee.
"Seating (expletive) at Philipp Plein because no editors want to sit near Tiffany Trump. SHOCKER," another fashion editor wrote.
Seated next to Trump was her socialite BFF Andrew Warren, who shared his own version of events on Instagram. "That seat was never empty it was reserved for (Plein's) family," he captioned his selfie with Trump.
Whoopi Goldberg told her View co-hosts Wednesday on the ABC morning talk show that she would fill an empty seat next to Trump. "Tiffany I'm supposed to go to a couple more shows," she said. "I don't know what's gonna happen, but I'm coming to sit with you because nobody is talking politics. You're looking at fashion. She doesn't want to talk about her dad."
Goldberg continued expressing empathy for the 23-year-old. "I just thought it was mean and you know what I don't want to talk about your dad, but girl I will sit next to you 'cause I've been there where people say, 'Oh, we're not going to sit next to you.'"
Later that day Trump happily accepted Goldberg's invitation to be seatmates on Twitter.
On Tuesday, Trump sat with Warren at the unveiling of Dennis Basso's new collection, another designer she's wore in the past.
Trump swapped her default monochromatic color scheme for a jewel-toned gown with some sparkle.
This isn't Tiffany Trump's first Fashion Week appearance. She made an appearance at Taoray Wang's show last September.
This week also marks Trump's one-year anniversary her runway debut, after she walked for Warren's Just Drew collection in February 2016.
