Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin find romance in 'Me Before You.'

Get ready, New York. Louisa Clark is coming.

The appealing British heroine of two Jojo Moyes’ best sellers, Me Before You and its sequel, After You, will return in a third, as-yet untitled novel in spring 2018, Pamela Dorman Books/Viking tells USA TODAY exclusively.

Feisty “Lou” first appeared in the 2012 weepie Me Before You as caretaker to Will Traynor, a privileged young man paralyzed in an accident. The novel, which broke a lot of hearts, was No. 1 on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list for six (non-consecutive) weeks last spring and summer as the movie, starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, hit theaters.

In After You, Lou, mourning Will, finds a dreadful job at an airport restaurant and then slowly falls for paramedic Sam Fielding. But by the end of the sequel, a job opportunity in Manhattan proves too tempting. In the new book, Lou must decide if her personal Brexit should be permanent.

In a statement, Moyes said: “I always knew that once I committed to write the sequel to Me Before You, I would also write a third book; I saw it quite clearly as a trilogy. Revisiting Lou has been a joy, as I push her into a completely new country, a brand new world, and a house full of secrets. With her usual blend of humor and emotion she has to ask herself some pretty fundamental questions — not least, which side of the Atlantic does she really belong?”

British author Jojo Moyes continues Louisa Clark's story.

According to Viking, 17 million copies of Me Before You and After You have sold worldwide. After You also got a bump from the Me Before You movie, rising to No. 3 on USA TODAY’s list on July 28, 2016.

Can't wait til next year for more Jojo? Moyes’ novel The Horse Dancer, the story of a girl hoping to become an equestrian, will be released as a paperback original by Penguin on April 11.
