Texans fans are acutely aware of Brock Osweiler’s shortcomings at quarterback in his first year in Houston. On Friday, a former Denver teammate threw some shade on the $72 million free-agent flop.
Chris Harris, a Pro Bowl cornerback three years running in Denver, talked to Houston radio station KILT (610 AM) at the Super Bowl LI radio row. When asked if the Broncos want Osweiler back, Harris laughed, “Nah man, y’all can definitely have him. Y’all can have Brock now”.
Harris’ take is particularly painful because the Broncos suffered from inadequate QB play last year, too. The underwhelming combination of Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch was the biggest reason Denver failed to make the playoffs as the reigning Super Bowl champs. Siemian was quite similar to Osweiler, while Lynch proved unready as a first-round rookie.
When the two teams played in Week 7, Osweiler and Siemian combined for 281 passing yards on 66 attempts.
