LOS ANGELES - Today's generation of flower buyers want apps, instant ordering and a more modern approach to presentation and design, believes Matt Schwab.

He's the co-founder of BloomThat, one of a handful of new Silicon Valley venture funded startups looking to wake up the $7 billion floral industry by appealing to millennials.

"We have an entire generation used to dealing with companies that are transparent, that build an experience around a service," Schwab says, on the #TalkingTech podcast. "We’re looking at...how does a new generation get flowers,"
