Changing-up a team’s logo is good sometimes. At its best, it succeeds in freshening everything up, and modernizing the franchise, and boosting sales. All very good things.
But that doesn’t mean things always go right when teams opt for a change. Sometimes, teams conjure up ideas for logos that are actually worse than the ones which proceeded them. The ones below fit that bill. Many of them were so bad that they were abandoned for a return to the old version.
Two caveats: This list only includes logos that were worse than the ones before them, rather than the generally terrible logos. Also, we only stuck to the big three American leagues for this one (MLB, NFL, NBA).
