Someone created a Bowling Green massacre website and it redirects to ACLU

The Bowling Green Massacre Victims Fund website says it is raising money for the victims of the now famous fake tragedy, but any attempt to donate takes visitors to the American Civil Liberties Union's website.

People noticed www.bowlinggreenmassacrefund.com not long after President Donald Trump's adviser Kellyanne Conway created the catastrophe in a Thursday evening interview on MSNBC.

Conway, on Hardball, was comparing additional background checks on Iraqis established by former President Barack Obama to Trump's temporary ban on immigrants from seven majority Muslim countries. She said Obama made his changes after it was discovered "the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre," were two Iraqis radicalized in the United States.

The comment quickly became fodder for those opposing the Trump administration. Conway later tweeted she meant to say, "Bowling Green terrorists," referring to two Iraqi men now serving life sentences for using explosives against U.S. soldiers and for trying to sell weapons to Al-Qaeda.

The website, which doesn't clarify who is behind the faux campaign, features a huge photo of a man looking into the distance behind the text, "Join us in helping those in this time of need."

By clicking on the "Donate Now" button, a visitor is taken to the ACLU's landing page for donations.

As one scrolls, the website provides Conway's full quote along with emotional statements such as:

"We all still carry the vivid memories of what horrors occurred at Bowling Green, but some still relive those moments everyday as they work to rebuild a community torn apart."
