Vegetarians don't exist according to Charles Barkley

NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley fired off a surprising take on Thursday night’s coverage, arguing that vegetarians aren’t real. Barkley went on a tangent when discussing Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge.

Barkley: “He’s a terrific player, but he’s one of those guys… he makes me nervous. I don’t like people who don’t get mad, Ernie. I don’t trust people. Like vegetarians. That’s not a thing. Everybody likes meat.

Ernie: “…?”

Barkley: “It’s not a thing, Ernie. Just because they say it doesn’t make it true.”

“There’s no such thing as a vegetarian. Nobody doesn’t like meat!”

There are actually a handful of players in the NBA who are vegan or vegetarian, and it’s becoming more popular for players in other sports as well. Denver’s Wilson Chandler explained why he became vegan over the summer, and said he has higher energy levels and his body recovers faster since making the switch. Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard switched over to a vegan diet before the season began in order to lose weight and reduce the stress on his joints.
