Deal Watch: Viking Cruises kicks off promotion

Fast-growing Viking Ocean Cruises is out with a promotion that brings a choice of extra perks on Baltic sailings.

The line says customers who book a Viking Homelands voyage by Jan. 31 can choose between a free beverage package, prepaid gratuities or an on-board credit of up to $400. The offer also includes 2-for-1 pricing on the cruise plus flights to and from the ship for a discounted rate of $995 per person.

Viking Homelands voyages are 14-night trips between Stockholm, Sweden and Bergen, Norway that include calls in Finland, Russia, Estonia, Poland, Germany and Denmark.

Viking Ocean Cruises also is offering discounted airfare in conjunction with its Indies Explorer itinerary in the Caribbean out of San Juan. In addition to  2-for-1 cruise pricing, customers can get flights to and from the ship for a discounted fare of just $45 per person.

New cruise ships for 2017: Viking Sky and Viking Sun

Viking Ocean Cruises is the ocean cruising division of Viking Cruises. The company's river cruise division, Viking River Cruises, also is offering a promotion this month that brings 2-for-1 pricing on cruises plus free or heavily discounted flights.

Viking River Cruises' offer is available on select river itineraries and also includes a choice of a free beverage package, prepaid gratuities or an on-board credit of up to $400.
