Trump and Obama to meet at the White House

It's time to hug it out and accept reality: Two men who attacked each other vociferously during the long campaign are expected to meet Thursday when President-elect Donald Trump arrives at the White House for transition planning with President Obama. In a statement at the White House, Obama asked his staff to work toward a smooth transition, just as President George W. Bush and his team did for them eight years ago. He called the peaceful transfer of power "one of the hallmarks of our democracy."

Trump University fraud allegations still haunt the president-elect

With 75 or so still-open lawsuits involving himself and his businesses. President-elect Donald Trump will be bringing some legal baggage with him into the White House. There is a hearing scheduled Thursday in one of the class-action lawsuits brought by former Trump University students, who say Trump's company ripped them off for tens of thousands of dollars in tuition for a sham real-estate course. The Trump University cases are among the most serious remaining lawsuits as the businessman assumes the presidency because they involve allegations of fraud and racketeering.

Will the NFL's only winless team finally get on the board?

2016 has been a great year for Cleveland sports ... except for the Browns. As the NFL's only winless team, the Browns will look to get on track under the bright lights of Thursday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens (8:25 p.m. ET, NFL Network). Despite being ravaged with injuries, Cleveland's best chance at win No. 1 may be against the Ravens, who have a limp 4-4 record. The Browns' hopes in part lie in the fact that they held a 20-2 lead against Baltimore back in September before blowing it. Head coach Hue Jackson, who says the team is "much different" seven weeks later, is praying that similar slips don't occur this time. We'll find out tonight.

Jury deliberations may resume in Cincinnati officer-involved shooting trial

A Cincinnati jury is expected to resume deliberations Thursday in the murder and manslaughter trial of a white former campus police officer in the shooting death of a black motorist after a traffic stop in July 2015. Ray Tensing, 26, testified during the trial that he feared that Sam DuBose was trying to run him over when he fired a single shot, which struck DuBose in the head and killed him. Prosecutor Joe Deters said the evidence against Tensing, which included footage from Tensing's body camera, was "overwhelming." DuBose's death was one of several that fueled the Black Lives Matter movement.

Ray Tensing, a former University of Cincinnati police officer, walks into the courtroom of Judge Megan Shanahan of Hamilton County (Ohio) Common Pleas Court. Tensing is charged with murder of Sam DuBose during a routine traffic stop on July 19, 2016, in Cincinnati.
