Newspaper obit calls for justice for 'The Walking Dead's' Glenn

Spoiler alert! The following contains details from the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead. 

After six seasons of gore, you would think Walking Dead fans would be able to stomach just about anything. And you would be dead wrong.

Following Sunday’s highly-anticipated season 7 opener, which hit a two-year ratings high with 17 million same-day viewers, fans flocked to social media to lambast the brutal deaths of fan-favorite characters Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) at the hands of new villain Negan. Now, as viewers waver on whether or not to continue watching the AMC series, one newspaper has issued its own response to the graphic premiere: An obituary for Glenn.

Arkansas-based newspaper The Batesville Daily Guard ran the following column this week in memory of the delivery boy-turned-zombie-fighter.

Glenn Rhee, husband, father-to-be, warrior and friend departed from this world October 23rd. He was 32. Born and raised in Michigan to Korean immigrant parents, he settled in Atlanta to undertake his career of delivering pizzas and brightening the world around him until the unthinkable happened — the Walker Apocalypse. It was then that the real Glenn emerged: a man of impeccable moral grounding and logistical wizardry.

In closing, the obit writer added: "In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations of LITERALLY ANYONE WHO CAN HELP THEM DEFEAT NEGAN be made in his memory."
