Wednesday's forecast: Wet for Northwest, Midwest
The nation's two soggy spots Wednesday will be the Northwest and the Midwest.
West: Rain will soak much of Washington, Oregon and northern California on Wednesday. The rest of the West will be sunny, dry and mild.
Central U.S.: The Upper Midwest and Great Lakes will see a cold rain Wednesday, with the heaviest rain likely in Minnesota and Wisconsin. A few showers and thunderstorms are also possible in the central and southern Plains.
East: Most of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic will be clear and chilly Wednesday. Light rain and snow is forecast over the highest elevations of the northern Appalachians and northern New England.
