Fresh DNC leak: Campaign bus dumps waste on Ga. road

A Democratic National Committee campaign bus supporting Hillary Clinton's bid for the presidency spilled raw sewage on a Georgia road Tuesday, according to police.

Officers were called to the O'Reilly Auto Parts on Grayson Highway after receiving reports that an RV was illegally dumping its sewage into the storm drain, a Lawrenceville Police Department report said.

Debate: Can we let our kids watch?

An employee of the auto parts store told police that he watched the vehicle stop in the turn lane in front of the store and spill raw sewage onto the roadway and into the storm drain.

Pictures taken by the store employee showed that the vehicle featured pictures of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia.

The officer stated that a large amount of drying toilet paper was on the roadway where the bus had been and a "foul smell" wafted in the air.

Gwinnett County Fire Hazmat units cleaned up the spill.

According to a news release, the bus is part of the Democratic National Committee's "Forward Together" tour, and is "campaigning in Georgia to provide additional support for Hillary Clinton and to promote Democrats up and down the ballot."

A DNC spokesperson issued a statement Tuesday evening saying:

“This was an unacceptable mistake and we apologize to the Lawrenceville community for any harm that was caused. We are taking corrective action with the charter bus company to prevent this from ever happening again and contacting local officials to determine the best course of action.”

The bus was in Lawrenceville for a Latino community early vote event. It then traveled to Emory University for a meeting with student leaders before heading to a Bibb County phone bank in Macon on Tuesday night.

The bus is scheduled to be back in Atlanta on Wednesday for a presidential debate watch party with former Atlanta mayor Shirley Franklin.
