TV tonight: 'Great Pumpkin,' 'Queen Sugar' marathon

OWN, 4 ET/PT

The Peanuts celebrates Halloween in 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown' on ABC.

If you’ve fallen behind on this well-acted and frequently moving family drama from Ava DuVernay about three African-American siblings battling to save the family’s southern farm, you can catch up with this marathon,  which concludes with a new outing at 10 ET/PT. Like many of TV’s best series, Queen has the power to teach us something about ourselves and each other we don't know, if we’re willing to listen. And it has another lesson to impart: Any network that isn’t inclusive in this day and age isn’t inclusive because it doesn’t want to be. As Queen proves, the talent is out there, ready and waiting.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown/Toy Story of Terror
ABC, 8 ET/PT

ABC airs a holiday double play, led off by Pumpkin. This is the second-best Brown special, right after A Charlie Brown Christmas — and like that beloved classic, it’s a rumination on the meaning and necessity of faith. And a funny one, too, which makes it a good match for the entertaining Terror, which reunites the stars of the movie for a spooky trip to a roadside motel. In all, a great family-viewing hour.

The Presidential Debate
Various networks, 9 ET/6 PT

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump share a stage for the last time before November’s election. Fox News’ Chris Wallace moderates.
