An original Jose Fernandez jersey disappeared after Wednesday night's vigil at Braulio Alonso High School in Tampa, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The jersey was hanging in the dugout during the ceremony at Fernandez's high school, while mourners stood on the field and shared memories of the pitcher who died early Sunday in a boating accident. When coach Landy Faedo and others were cleaning up after the vigil, they realized the jersey was missing.
The school filed a police report with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office, which says it has no surveillance tape but believes the jersey was taken sometime between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. ET.
