Harmonica battle: Jimmy Kimmel v. Tim Kaine

Carly Mallenbaum
USA TODAY
Jimmy Kimmel challenged Tim Kaine to a "harmonica battle."

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton's first presidential debate wasn't the only televised political face-off Monday night. Jimmy Kimmel and Tim Kaine also went head-to-head.

Kimmel, who says he's running for vice president without a running mate, challenged Clinton's VP pick, Kaine, to a war of words at a "neutral site": Buffalo Wild Wings. During what turned into a pleasant meeting, Kimmel shared some of his plans for America. For example: Americans deserve to have the Monday after the Super Bowl off from work. Kimmel also proposed that each citizen only post twice to social media daily, and that concert attendees be arranged by height order.

Kaine liked those ideas, so there really wasn't much to argue. "I think there's only one way for us to settle this," Kimmel said. "Harmonica battle."

Kaine proceeded to show off his impressive skills, before Kimmel went at it (but was really miming while John Popper of Blues Traveler played for him). The meeting ended with a Kaine/Popper jam session.
